Go For Rafting Croatia

For the thrill seekers, Croatia’s unspoiled countryside lends itself to bicycling and hiking, along with serious mountain climbing, while the expansive coastline along with many rivers is perfect for almost every type of water-sport imaginable, e.g. rafting.

Rafting as a way of transportation up and down watercourses also bears a long-lasting tradition in Croatia. Even So, white-water rafting as a modern form of risky venture commenced only in the late 1980s and assisted to draw notice to the amazing beauty of Croatian rivers which, up until that time, was recognized only to relatively few kayaking explorers and fishermen.

The founding fathers of the Riverfree Club, initiates of commercial travels through the rivers and experts on the waterways of Croatia, did not predict the subsequent grade of interest and the resulting popularity of rafting on rivers which do not abound with wild rapids and high waves. However, thousands of individuals have since enjoyed their close confrontations with the unforgettable magic of rivers, of green river banks, sheer canyons and crystal-clear depths.

Rivers in the continental parts of the country are flanked by massive woodlands and by mountains, while those closer to the sea boost great green banks and deep and shaded mystical canyons. What they all have in general are greenish clean waters that one can look through right down to the river bed.

no turning back

The grade of difficulty of Croatia’s white waters is, on average, level 3; just on the Rivers Dobra and Una can you encounter level 4 waters. The Cetina river is the most best recognized spot for white water rafting. The mouth of the Cetina river opens up into the sea at Omis, a marvelous setting for a town, separated by a deep ravine which, after many kilometres of being fairly wide, draws in here to merely a couple of metres wide.
